I did it! I survived my first metal show! My camera did, too!
I’ve been spoiled over the last few months, shooting big venues with great lighting and a nice barrier between the crowd and the photo pit area. Shooting Woe, Is Me at The Basement was a surprisingly refreshing wakeup call. This was an intense night of shooting, to say the least. Getting elbowed and kicked in front of the mosh pit while trying to shoot at as slow a shutter speed as possible really made me think critically every time I pressed the shutter button. The experience was enlightening, from both a photographic and musical experience! Enjoy the photos!
